Today is timely in adding this completed painting to the Art Portfolio.
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anais Nin
It has been an unholy week of death and terror throughout our country. Policemen were murdered – without cause other than to make a statement. Civilians were murdered by policemen out of fear, and the presence of weapons that were allowed by law. It is a sad statement of where we are today due to control of congress by the NRA, and the belief that everyone deserves to carry a gun. The police are in fear for their lives, and civilians place themselves and others in danger by carrying the guns that law allows them to carry.
I am fortunate in that I can come to these tragedies with a heart at peace, knowing that I am living my life in a state of becoming. It is peace unfurled, moving beyond blossoming into a state of being. Choosing to love all, even those I disagree with, those who are different than me. Choosing to listen, learn and support. All I can do is exude that peace, open my arms, love – and share the beauty and innocence of being.
