Coaching Retreat 2008Georgia Feiste is retired from a career in insurance operations, and busier than ever! She delights in coaching others to soar, teaching them to serve as their own personal life coach. And, she loves to make art.

After setting aside her art for almost 40 years, being told by a professor in college that she had no talent and should pursue another interest, she picked up a paintbrush again for the first time in 2014. Prior to that, she spent her creative time knitting, crocheting, and completing large and complicated counted cross stitch pictures, winning a blue ribbon at the NE State Fair. She is also enamored with stained glass, and has made several pieces, including two transom windows for her home.

Georgia decided that she could no longer coach people to follow their dreams if she was not doing so herself. She signed up for a pastels class and a painting class. These classes were geared for seniors who wanted to continue to use and improve their skills in these mediums. Georgia says that her favorite medium is pastels, followed closely by oil, and acrylics.

“After attending art classes for seniors, learning techniques and tools for drawing and painting, I wanted to bring this type of class to Lincoln. So, I volunteer over the summer months teaching those same techniques and tools to other seniors. I love sharing what I learn, and this particular avenue gives me and my “students” great joy.”

Georgia has won several awards at the Sun City Annual Juried Art Show, Palo Verde Art Show, and is a juried member of Vanguard Art Group in the West Valley in Arizona, participating in juried shows throughout the West Valley in Arizona. She became a member of the Lincoln Artist Guild in July, 2015. She was the featured artist for the Guild in September – October, 2016. Georgia is an associate at the Noyes Gallery in Lincoln, NE.
